Her Grammy visited this past week and fished a number of toys from her rental house's shed out back, toys Sarah's Mommy and siblings played with as kids--wooden train set, fisher price camper, a plastic record player, and others. They also had fun visiting the zoo (Sarah loves the water area of the Children's Zoo there), shopping, and playing outside. Little did Daddy know that Sarah has learned how to swing on the "big girl swing" instead of the diaper-looking baby swings. Oh my, she's growing up!
Lately, too, Sarah has tried out a few new foods, finding she enjoys banana, chocolate, and broccoli of all things. "Lollipop" has entered her vocabulary, and she has actually moved into drinking some juice instead of the standby milk we've given her forever. Sarah's diet is still rather limited, but we see improvement there. When we partake in our ritual Friday night restaurant or she has lunch sometimes with Daddy, Sarah enjoys eating Chinese, CiCis pizza, Taco Bueno, Subway, and McDonald's--yes, not the best nutritional places, but we've been avoiding the more formal sit-down places due to periodic meltdowns and such. :)
Soon, Sarah will be three. She really doesn't need anything as far as toys go (when has she ever?), but we might get her something to expend all those energies on for the backyard, maybe a handwriting teaching system since she knows the alphabet and can read already, and balloons. Yes, simple and effective those are. This summer, we plan on taking her to the local pool with the season pass, the zoo, Gymboree, and maybe a dance class or something since she loves music and movement. Plus, Sarah has relatives to visit both near and far along with a trip to the East Coast in June. Three will be a busy year!
